We do not use any of the ingredients mentioned below as we care about the environment and also the people and animals on the planet.
In an ordinary household, there are about 62 toxic ingredients according to experts. We are exposed to these substances through routine when we clean. Ingredients found in many cleaning products have been linked to cancer, asthma, hormonal disorders and impaired reproductive capacity, which is really alarming. You should as far as possible to avoid inhaling the fumes from these products.
1. Perchlorethylene (PERC):
This is a subject which is often found in stain removal for various textiles, for example for carpets. If you inhale this substance continuously for a while, the exposure can lead to cancer in the long run.
This subject can be found in the heavier cleaning agents. It is so toxic that it can lead to ALS, which is a disease that causes the brain's function to control the body to be slowly eliminated. This substance can also cause damage to the nervous system in other ways than ALS does. In some cases, it can even alter the balance of chemicals in the brain, which can lead to depression, mood swings, headaches, insomnia and lack of attention.
3. 2- Butoxyethanol
This is a common occurrence ingrediens in all-purpose cleaners and window cleaners, but also liquid hand soaps - in other words, we are quite often exposed to this substance. The substance is the sweet scent that you can feel when you clean with this type of detergent. If you are exposed to these fumes often, it can actually lead to such high levels of the substance that it can cause liver and kidney damage.
Ammonia acts as a glass cleaner and can lead to irritation to human tissue. You will also find the substance in cleanings for sinks and jewelry. If you already have lung or breathing problems, you will quickly notice pain and discomfort. Failure to do so will result in prolonged exposure still affecting you and may cause permanent damage to the mucous membranes and cardiovascular system.
5. Sodium hydroxide
This is a subject used in oven cleaning and in the means of cleaning the pipes once they have been plugged. Even mild contact with skin or inhalation of the substance can lead to reactions with the nervous system. If you get this substance on your skin or in your eyes, you may get burns.
Chlorine are found in some detergents to make the laundry even whiter, and also in toilet cleaners. The substance can irritate the skin and also lead to chronic dryness in one's skin. You should absolutely avoid using chlorine as a bleaching agent yourself, as according to a source there are those who have poisoned themselves by mixing chlorine with, for example, vinegar or vinegar. Doing so creates a gas that is extremely toxic.
This the subject We are very often exposed to it, as it is found in liquid detergents and hand soaps that are antibacterial - which is dangerous as it can create bacteria that are resident against medicines, such as antibiotics.
Quaternary ammonium compounds (also abbreviated QUATS)
This too is one subject which we often come in contact with, as this is found in fabric softeners as well as in most household products with the label “antibacterial”. People who are generally healthy can develop asthma just by being in contact with QUATS.
Do these substances also affect the others in the household, you might think. For example, my pet? Yes, substances such as chlorine, ammonia, bleach, glycol and formaldehyde can affect your animal at home where it can in the worst case lead to cancer and liver and kidney damage.
Skin sensitizing chemicals is also something to watch out for. These chemicals are capable of causing allergic reactions over time. You may not get allergies the first time you come in contact with the substance, but it is something that can develop over time.
Endocrine disrupting chemicals is another type of chemical that can adversely affect us. The abbreviation for these is EDCs, where these affect the body's hormones. They trick the body into thinking they are hormones and thus cause health risks, such as infertility, endometriosis, cancer, diabetes and more.
